Today we ventured to the zoo. It was Elinor's first zoo trip. It was fun! Hot, but fun. What made it even more fun was that Elinor's four cousins were there. Here are some pictures of our adventure:
Here are some captions starting at the top left: this one is for Grandma and Grandpa Rowberry--we have a picture of Brad when he was little getting a drink from the same drinking fountain; here is a picture of Elinor and her cousins Tanner and Parker at the zebra cages; this is a funny picture of Elinor; the next two pictures are of us riding the carousel--we rode the kangaroo in honor of "the homeland"; this picture is of Elinor and her two cousins that are about the same age as she is; the next two pictures are of me and Elinor on the train--by this time we were both fairly hot and gross, but Elinor was happy to be out of the stroller; another funny picture of Elinor; Elinor at the zebra cages; another picture of Elinor and her two cousins her age; and finally, Elinor compared to a gorilla. We had so much fun! And yes I did see one of my students from this last year there. Crazy.

Bummer
So today was a very pretty day. I decided it would be fun to take Elinor to our pool for her first outdoor swimming adventure. It took us about an hour to get ready. I know what you're thinking, and hour? Really? Really. Because of all the cryptosporidium last year (it was really bad in Utah last year) there are extra precautions that need to happen before you get in the pool. Especially with an un-potty trained baby. Elinor had to have a complete bath first. So did I. Then I had to squeeze her into a swim diaper (apparently she has grown since the end of April). Now it was sunscreen time. I saw on the news this morning that the way the rays are hitting today that someone with fair skin can get sunburned in less than 5 minutes today. So I slathered. And I slathered. And I slathered. If you know us, you know we are pretty much the epitome of fair skin. Finally I squeezed her into her very cute swim suit (apparently she has grown A LOT since the end of April!). I got dressed and then we loaded up the stroller. We walked over to the pool. Then I saw the sign: Pool Closed. Boo. I'm so glad the management people let us know that the pool was closed. But the management here pretty much stinks, so I don't know what I was expecting. So know we are greasy from sunscreen and bummed that we didn't get to go swimming. Oh well. Maybe next time.

Church Puke.
So we went to church today, and it was a great meeting. At the end, baby is getting cranky cause she's so tired, but she's a good sport. All of the sudden she's coughing a little, then BAM! Explosive puke! I have not seen her puke that much before at one time! It went everywhere, mostly on Mama and the floor. She needed a bath and we needed to change because nobody wants to sit by pukey smelling people in Sunday school! What's funny is that she was back to her happy self instantly while we're trying to get all the nasty cleaned up. Happy Sunday!

Pink eye!
Yesterday Elinor's eye was looking rather red. Brad decided to take her to the doctor and she decided it was pink eye. Boo. Elinor is a good trooper but she HATES her eye drops. She screams and screams when it hits her eye. It is so sad. But today her eye is looking better. Here is a picture of her eye but it's hard to see it.

Funny sleeping positions
We have gotten a couple of funny pictures of Elinor sleeping lately. She is definitely a tummy sleeper. She doesn't sleep on her back or side-only tummy. When she is in her swing she sleeps in funny positions. Here are a few:And here is tonight:

Elinor's first pony tail
Well I finally decided to put that crazy hair in a pony tail. I don't know why I've waited. She has the PERFECT hair for it--I mean it basically is a pony tail naturally. Here is the final product:I think she looked adorable. I will definitely do this do again!

Awww...
I know there aren't too many people who look at this blog frequently, but for those who do, here are some pictures to tide you over until we do a real post! Brad took these the last few days on his iPhone.
This one is a little blurry, but the swing was moving. Check out where her little leg is!
Brad calls this picture "Lion King Called..."
Mmm...fingers! Luckily Elinor is a pretty happy baby. That makes life so much easier for Brad who not only owns a bike shop, he also runs a daycare! Thanks Brad!

Six Months!
Elinor is six months today. Wow that went fast! Here are her stats:
18.5 lbs
28 inches long
Needless to say, we have a big, healthy, happy baby!
Here's a pic of her at the doctor's office.
PS--this pic is post shots. Pretty good! Brad said she made a noise he had never heard before.
