Nor has started laughing and giggling, but as soon as the camera comes out, she stops. This is the best there is so far.

and we have a nickname

I have wanted to have an Elinor for a very long time. I remember telling Brad that I wanted an Elinor soon after we were married (I was scared he would say he hated that name and I would have to fight to change his mind). I also loved the name Ella, so I figured we could call Elinor Ella, just like Ella from Ella Enchanted (whose real name is Eleanor--have you reviewed that one yet Anne?). And then Elinor came. She is not an Ella. She is an Elinor. She will never be an Ella. It just doesn't fit. So just planned on calling her Elinor because that is who she is. When Brad flew in to Las Vegas this last week for Christmas, he was calling her "Nor." Brad has a sister Victoria that we call Tor. Brad was talking on the phone to her or something like that and Elinor started smiling when he said Tor. Brad asked Elinor if she wanted to be called Nor and he swears she said yes. The first couple of days I hated it. "Her name is Elinor, not Nor!" "That is a dumb nickname." Things like that kept playing in my mind. Finally, I gave in. Now I think it is cute. She will still mostly be Elinor, but now she is also Nor. At least it is unique!

Here's an interesting thing about blogs. I'm a bit of an addict with my blogs and websites to see who's looking at them from where and how they got to it. (This pile of information is called analytics.) I've been fascinated with how many of my friends from growing up all have blogs about their families.

People from at least 15 states, Australia, the UK, and other places in Europe have been looking at this blog. People find it through other blogs, MyFamily.com, MySpace, Facebook, and a variety of other ways. I don't even have MySpace or Facebook accounts! About 69% of visits are regular repeat viewers, 43% of visitors use Macs, we've had 1 iPhone visitor, and exactly 50% of viewers have cable internet connections.

I know this is a strange post for the baby's blog, but I was so amazed the more I thought about it.

Sunday Morning Video

Today is Sunday, and Elinor is as cute as ever. Christmas is just a few days away, so she's really excited (we think). In this video, she's talking and smiling a lot. She has started to try laughing, which is pretty funny. There is a happy picture. You can click on it and save a bigger version of it.

She is now 75 days old! She has been going to work with daddy at the bike shop for a little while now since mommy went back to teaching. She's usually pretty good there, sleeping then eating then sleeping then... you know the rest of the story.

This weekend, Elinor and Alicia are driving down to Las Vegas for Christmas. I have to stay working until Christmas Eve afternoon, then will fly down to spend a few days, then we will all drive back together.

Christmas Breakfast

On Saturday the 8th, we went to a ward Christmas breakfast. They had food, and more importantly, Santa Claus! This was Elinor's first encounter with that jolly fellow. She looks like she was fussing, but she was just stretching. She loved Santa! The first two pictures were from waiting to see the big man, but being at the end of the line was just too hard for this little baby.

Hello Everyone!
Last night was Baby Elinor's blessing. It was a great time and a lot of people came. We had four kinds of soup, bread, then pies for dessert.
Thanks for coming everyone and making it a special event for us.
Today was the first time Grandma, Grandpa, and Lexy Rowberry got to meet little Elinor. They sure do like her.

Happy Video from November 11th

Enjoy a video of Elinor smiling and being happy. We cut out the crying afterward, but she's usually a happy baby. She'll be six weeks old on Tuesday! How has that happened so quickly! Grandma and Grandpa Rowberry and Aunt Lexy will be here on Saturday afternoon to see baby for the first time.

Elinor has been growing a lot lately. She eats like crazy for a few hours then sleeps for a long time. This week she slept all through the night twice. She sleeps in the day quite a bit too. Every day she looks bigger and weighs more!

Baby Elinor is a cow today. Her costume looked huge, but it's actually about the right size! Isn't she cute?

One week down, infinity to go!

Little baby Elinor is already a week old! She loves to eat, a lot, and all the time. When she sleeps, we think she's thinking about eating. She sleeps a lot during the day. She's such a good baby! The last couple of nights have been good as she's only waken up once to eat. When she's hungry or has gas at night, she can sure make a lot of noise! We are so glad she's here to live with us. She's such a blessing in our lives. Here are a couple more pictures of our sweet baby.
These three pictures were taken on Friday the 5th right before we came home from the hospital.

Baby Elinor is Here!!

Say hello to baby Elinor! She was born today, October 2nd at 10:57 am via c-section. She weighs a whopping 9 pounds 13 ounces and is 20.5 inches long. She's a gorgeous, healthy, fat baby that looks like her mom and dad. Enjoy the pictures! There are many more to come. We'll be at the hospital until Friday morning then we'll go home. It's Alive!

Time flies by!

Since the last post a lot has happened. Not only has this baby grown, but she's also started to show off her strong personality. Baby Elinor is getting really big, and is most likely going to be a big baby. We have another ultrasound scheduled for next Monday to see just how big she is! That will tell us if our doctor will bring her early. Big babies are good though! The due date is still September 27th, one month from today. She's supposed to be born in Provo at Utah Valley Hospital.

On a side note, since the last post Brad's bike shop, Infinite Cycles, opened in Riverton. It has been open almost three months now and things have been going really well. Customers are glad to have a shop so close and they are excited to get the latest and greatest stuff.

Yep, it's a girl!

We had our first ultrasound last night and our little baby is going to be a girl! We are really excited. We felt like it would be a girl, but we know for (almost) certain now! How exciting! The due date is now September 27th. We'll see how quickly the next few months go.

Here is Alicia standing in the bike shop against the green wall sticking out the baby. We think it is a girl, but we'll find out for sure on Tuesday when we have our firs ultrasound. Tuesday is also Grandma Rowberry's birthday, so that is our gift to her!

It has been exciting because she has felt it move a few times this week. All the being sick might start being worth it (because it doesn't go away)!

This baby is more than half way done cookin'. If the second half goes as fast as the first half, this kid will be here in no time!

Its Alive!

Yesterday was exciting! We had our second visit with the doctor and we got to hear the baby's heartbeat! It was neat to hear and know that it is alive and is actually a little person growing in there. If only it wouldn't make it's mamma so sick. The little heartbeat sounded like a fast pair of windshield wipers in the rain. We are about 14 weeks along now. How fun!
